There are many to choose from on the Pacific, and the Jaco (pronounced "Haco") is a very popular place. Just be aware of Rip-Tides as they are famous throughout Central America, Pacific or Carib side. Just have to use common sense, watch for tell tale signs and swim with a friend. There are No-see-ums, sand fleas, scorpions, spiders (you'll love the Golden Orbs), and countless other stinging, biting and generally annoying things in Costa Rica! Snakes!
