Does anyone know of a good online resource to locate cheap rental housing in Alajuela? Looking for a small, centrally located Tico style residence for around $300/month (or less) for a 1 year period of time. Found a few things in the Tico Times, AM Costa Rica, AmericaBienes, etc, but the majority of rentals seem to be for posh vacation rentals, which I'm not interested in (nor can I afford!). I'm also down there a few times a year - is it better to just wander around and look for For Rent signs?

Re: Resources for cheap rental housing
Tue, January 24, 2006 - 6:40 AMHey there! Yeah, a lot of the places you ran across are targeted toward the rich folk and short-termers. I've had my best luck looking at the bulletin board of the local grocery stores. Besides that, there is www.economicos.com/home.do which is the classifieds part of the main, Spanish language newspaper here, La Nacion.
One day I really hope we'll have a lot more people on here with suggestions, but one place that DOES have a lot of people participating is www.discoverypress.com/wwwboa...rd.html . It's a bulletin board (forum) and they have 2 sections. I would post the exact same question there.
Best of luck!
