Hey All. I'm looking for some help in finding groups, schools, neighborhoods, non-profits in Costa Rica who need volunteer help. I'm also looking for host families or small B&B's / hotels / lodges to host the volunteers for a reasonable rate and provide at least 2 meals/day.

I run a cultural enrichment (volunteer) program and I have a bunch of people from the US interested in coming down in the next few months. I'm really trying to expand the number of organizations we work with. If you have any great suggestions, I'd love to hear about them.

You can see the current site at: helpingcostarica.com

Thanks,
Scott

If you're interested in wildlife/conservation programs, I volunteer a few times a year with a scarlet macaw reintroduction program, Amigos de las Aves - www.hatchedtoflyfree.org. They have volunteer opportunities at the breeding center in Alajuela and at the field sites in Tiskita and Curu. There is also a homestay down the road from the breeding center where the volunteers often stay. I will be back down there starting next Tuesday and can get you the homestay contact info if you like.
